Late Night Signings and Pens Rumors
UPDATE (10:40 pm): The Wild have signed coveted forward Marty Havlat to a 6 yr/$5mil per year deal. Chuck Fletcher has made a great signing here and they are still interested in Ruslan Fedotenko, who ironically has the same agent.
UPDATE (9:48 pm): The Hawks agree to a 1 yr/$2.75 mil deal with shutdown forward John Madden. The Flames signed forward Fredrik Sjostrom to a 2 yr/$750k per year deal.
-The Pens have had a pretty quiet day thus far. They signed enforcer/faceoff guy Mike Rupp to center the fourth line. This signing does signify that Eric Godard is likely on the out. Dupuis/Godard have been discussed in a trade to Calgary. We need to clear some cap if we are to sign Scuderi and a good winger, who's hopefully not Fedotenko.
- GM Ray Shero has been talking to the agents of Tanguay, Kovalev, and Kotalik. Those seem to be the best next tear of free agent wingers. Kotalik would go for the lowest price. Kovy is seeking a 3 yr deal and I doubt Shero wants that. As I predicted, Shero has showed some interest in Nick Boynton and Andrew Alberts.
